We cover Nottingham and the East Midlands for Legionella risk assessments. We are Leeds-based, and Nottingham is at the southern edge of the area we work in.
Water Hygiene Services is an independent Legionella control company. For Nottingham, we plan the visit carefully, agree the scope with you in advance and make the most of each trip.
We assess to HSG274 and give you a written report with a ranked action plan.

What a Legionella risk assessment covers
We survey your hot and cold water systems, find where Legionella could grow, record what we find in a written report, and give you a prioritised action plan. Our assessments follow HSG274, supporting ACoP L8. For the full detail, see our Legionella Risk Assessment page.
Students and the city
Nottingham has a large student population, so student housing and teaching buildings are a significant part of the stock. Buildings that are occupied in term and empty in the holidays need a flushing plan, and a check before students return.
Severn Trent supplies the city. The risk is in what happens inside your buildings, so the survey focuses on stored water, hot water plant and the outlets that are not often used.
Travel to Nottingham
Nottingham is about 75 miles from our Leeds office, by the M1 and A614. Because of that, we group visits, and for sites across Nottingham and the East Midlands we recommend assessing them as a programme.
We also cover Derby, Leicester, and Sheffield and South Yorkshire.
Questions we are asked in Nottingham
Do you work in the East Midlands?
Yes, we cover Nottingham, Derby and Leicester, and travel there for surveys and follow-up.
Our student blocks are empty over summer. What should we do?
We set out a flushing routine for the empty period and a pre-occupation check. The report explains what to record.
